Stephen will be sharing some of the tips he has gleaned from various programming contests. This will include a brief introduction to programming contests, general guidelines for getting the most working code in the least amount of time, and some useful algorithms often used in contests. The talk will also include a recap of the recent International Collegiate Programming Contest, including a solution and discussion of the infamous, treacherous, and thoroughly evil problem 5.
